Prior to joining Bridges to a Brighter Future at Furman, Teresa Young Pinheiro advised undergraduate transfer students through their application and admission processes at Augusta University and collaborated with academic departments for transfer student-friendly practices and policy. In previous community-based organization work in Central Florida, Teresa provided leadership for college access programming, especially focused on immigrant and first-generation college students.
Teresa also brings experiences from other non-profit and educational organizations in rural Appalachia and Argentina to her work in Bridges. She is passionate about education access and adopting asset-based approaches to work for student success. Originally from Northwest Ohio, Teresa enjoys exploring the outdoors and trying new foods among the diverse offerings found in the Upstate.
