PROMOTE VIA SOCIAL MEDIA
Social Media Takeover Guidlines:
What is a social media takeover?
A social media takeover allows you to temporarily take over the Malone Center’s social media accounts to share content on behalf of your organization. This is a great way to build brand awareness among Furman students and promote your recruitment activities.
Who can participate?
Social media takeovers are open to all companies looking to increase their visibility among students. You do not need to be actively hiring, albeit posts should focus on culture and careers at your company (no sales). This opportunity is not available to Third Party recruiters if promoting jobs outside of their own company.
How many times can I take over?
You can schedule a takeover once per semester, pending date availability. Only one employer will be scheduled per day, Monday-Friday.
How many times can I post?
Instagram Post Allowance
– 2 posts
– 10 stories
– 2 reels
– 1 live
LinkedIn and Facebook Post Allowance
– 2 posts
Posts will be shared during the hours of 10am and 4pm.
The Malone Center may post content outside of those hours.
What do I need to do?
Define your goals.
What do you want to accomplish?
Choose the networks you would like to use.
Our students are primarily engaged through Instagram and LinkedIn.
Choose a date during the academic year.
Ideally, choose a date that students are on campus.
Inform us of your interest in a social media takeover.
The Malone Center will check availability and confirm your date or propose an alternative.
Create your content!
- Mix up your postings with pictures, video, tell successful stories about young professional talent, share career advice and tips, and promote your open jobs. Be creative!
- Make sure your content is appropriate to the platform and audience. Posts containing profanity, nudity, discriminatory statements, or anything else the Malone Center deems inappropriate will not be shared.
- If you would like to do a live video chat event, please alert us as soon as possible.
Send your content to our office at least two days before your date.
Our staff will schedule the posts on your designated day.
Monitor the postings throughout the day and engage with the Furman student audience!
How will students know I’m taking over?
The Malone Center will promote your takeover through our social media channels 24 hours in advance. Asking staff in your office to share on their social media channels can also be effective in building awareness.
